Solar Generators

Solar generators are something that many people are interested in for various reasons. The cost of energy, the fact that we just observed Earth Day and plain old social awareness all are valid reasons to want to get a solar generator. You can take the easy way out and purchase a self made one or you can do the gratifying thing and with a little research and work, you can build your own and have the personal gratification of doing it all by yourself.

The very first thing that you need to do is research. Even though these things have been around a long time, some folks still do not understand what a solar generator is, how it works or how to go about getting one made. A solar generator, in plain terms is a solar panel, or set of panels that are mounted so that they can absorb the energy from the rays of the sun and convert those rays into energy that can be used to help power, or partially power your home and it's electrical needs.

Size limitations Here on this article actually prohibit a full-blown analysis of who, what, when and how with regards to solar generators but we are certainly capable of making sure that you know the basics in plain English.

One thing that attracts people to solar is that it is free and once you manage to get the collectors made, there is little if any maintenance needed to keep them operational, which is great in today's busy world where there is precious little time for things as it is. They also last a long time and a thirty-year life span is not uncommon.

It used to be that the collector panels were large, ugly and hard to hide. That has all changed in today's world and they blend in a lot better in today's homes and even if they are seen, the fact that you are eco-conscious has become more of a status symbol in the eyes of people. Saving the worlds resources for future generations is a good thing and looked up favorably in the eyes of everyone from your neighbors to the Internal Revenue Service.

There are many things that you can do with solar generators and if you have the available space for the panels, the amount of energy that you can get and since the amount of actual cash savings you can generate is actually limited only by how many of the panels you wish to erect. You can start small and expand as time and finances allow but there is no better time to start than now.

Given the relative ease of construction and the regenerating benefits that can be realized from a solar generating system, it makes sense for anyone to look into it no matter the scale, whether it is to offset the utility bills a little or to try and completely wean your home off of dependence on purchased electricity, it just seems right to look into solar generators.

Home Recording Studio Equipment You Will Need to Work From Home

For those of you who wish to work from home in the recording industry - you are obviously going to need to need home recording equipment. What type of gear you will need to get started will vary based on the type of recording you plan to do from home. For example, if you only plan to record narration for online videos or podcasts you will need less equipment than if you were trying to record music. Another thought is how much you plan to record at one time, one or two tracks and adding vocals in layers requires less equipment than if you plan to do more than two tracks or recording a full band.

One of the most important pieces of home recording equipment that you will need is, of course, a microphone (or microphones). To start out - especially if you have a very small budget - I recommend a USB mic like the Samson Q1U, which only runs about $ 49. If you plan to only do voice-overs or simple solo-type music, this just might be enough for you. There are several more advanced models of USB mic as well that you can upgrade to. If you have the budget though, I highly recommend a completely different kind of mic (not USB) called a large diaphragm condenser mic, such as the Rode NT2-A, along with an audio interface box like the Avid Fast Track or Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 . A mic / interface combo of that type will start at about $ 200. Again, if you're planning to record a band, you'll need more mics and a larger interface capable of recording multiple sources at once.

If this is the year 2000 or greater (It's 2015 where I live), then along with the microphone and interface you will need to have a computer. Most people reading this will already have one, so it will not be much of an issue.

You will also need recording software. Most computers nowdays come with some basic form of recording software, but that is not going to be quite enough for those wishing to make some money from recording. Rather than spending money on professional recording software many professionals use Audacity, which is available to download for free. Audacity has an amazing array of features and capabilities for the price, which, as I mentioned in case you missed it, is FREE. I would also suggest adding a program called Reaper for $ 60 (unless and until you start making 10-20 thousand clams a year using it.

This next bit of studio equipment stirs up quite a lot of controversy. I refer to studio monitors, as in loud-speakers. I've written before about how our ears lie to us at the best of times, but even the most honest of ears can be easily tricked by things like the room you mix in, and the loud-speaker response. In an ideal world you would do your critical listening and mixing in a room that does not mangle multiple frequencies before they get to your ears (Google the term room acoustics for more detail on that fun little topic), even if reproducible on perfect speakers . Also, you would have perfect response from the speakers in this perfect world. If your mixing room is a bedroom, as it is for most home recordists, just know that what you hear is already mangled in several ways. You can improve that situation, if you have really good speakers, but it is not easy (I refer you again to the topic of room acoustics).

Another way to monitor is through headphones. To start out, you do not need anything special in that department as long as you can hear what you're recorded. For music, you'll want at least one pair of closed-back headphones for overdubbing so that the sound coming from the headphones does not bleed down your calls into the microphone.

What is the best monitoring solution then? Should you buy special monitor speakers? My heretical advice is that if you're recording music, yes you should. Mixing while listening to sound coming through the air is too critical when recording several instruments and vocals, etc. But if you're definitely recording voice-overs and narration, then I say you can get with the speakers on your computers along with your headphones, at least to start out. In order to compensate for audio-mangle-age, do your final listening on both your headphones and your computer speakers. Then listen in the car, you iPod, and sometimes a few other systems, to make sure your final product sounds good on all of them. That's the trade-off for not having monitor speakers in a rented bedroom.

So what kind of monitors should you buy? Well there are two main types, active and passive. I'm saying that active monitor speakers are better to have than passive speakers. The reason is that they have the amplifier built into them, where as the passive speakers do not. And the reason this is a good thing is that passive speakers require you to also have an amplifier as a separate piece of gear altogether, which will drive the cost up, as well as adding other logical and electrical complications.

So in a nutshell, in order to outfit yourself with the basic home recording studio equipment, you'll need:

  • A computer
  • Recording Software
  • Microphone (s) (USB at least and standard condenser with interface if you have the budget)
  • Monitors (both headphones and speakers)

No matter what equipment you purchase the most important thing to remember is that knowledge of the key audio fundamentals is far more useful than expensive equipment. If you lack basic knowledge you will always end up with poor sounding audio, no matter how expensive the equipment is. Remember this mantra: knowledge trumps gear . There are gazillions of people making crap records every day with really expensive gear. But if you have some basic knowledge, you can make great records with very modest equipment. Therefore, never let an employee talk you into the most expensive equipment in the store, in most cases the $ 50 USB microphone will provide you with the professional sounding results.

How Do I Find a Great Business to Buy?

If you have always dreamed of owning your own business, but not necessarily starting from the ground up, buying an established business may be right for you.

There are many businesses available for purchase, from franchises to unique companies.

Businesses do not always announce they are for sale. Sometimes you may not even know a location is going out of business until they announce the going-out-of-business blowout deals.

The Internet is a great resource for finding businesses to buy.

Bizbuysell.com

BizBuySell has helped connect business sellers and new owners for more than 20 years. The company has helped sell more than 100,000 businesses and currently has 45,000 active for-sale listings.

The website also provides tools and advice on selling or buying a business, financing the purchase, and more. BizBuySell users can search by state, county, business category, and minimum / maximum price.

Mergernetwork.com

More than 15,000 active business-for-sale listings from around the world are listed on Merger Network . The network actually allows sellers to post their businesses for sale ads for free. Thousand of entrepreneurs, investment bankers and business brokers can connect with these sellers. There is no cost to sign up, which is great for browsing new opportunities.

Businessesforsale.com

More than 60,000 businesses are currently listed for sale on the website Businesses for Sale . Users can search by sector, region or franchises for sale. Businesses for Sale also has a section on top searches, which includes price reduced businesses, unique businesses (ie a horseback riding business) and small businesses for sale.

Most of the sellers on each website offer information on the businesses, including images, its location, sales revenue, asking price, lease terms, competition and market, and much more.

Beyond the information in a listing, you should speak with the owner to get as much information as possible about the business, including why they are selling.

Benefits of a Franchise

If you're considering buying a business, finding a franchise for sale is one way to get started with a business that is already well-established. Some of the benefits of owning a franchise include:

  • Brand recognition
  • Ongoing operational support
  • Continuing marketing support
  • Assistance with procurement and logistics
  • Less risks
  • Joining a family of other franchises
If you're considering buying a franchise, inquire about how the franchise works. For example, what are the ongoing royalty fees and marketing fees? How much creative freedom do owners have? How easy is it to get support from the franchisor? All these questions and more should be considered. If you're buying a franchise, research the franchise model as if you were starting from the very beginning.

How Selling eBooks Can Break Your Financial Chains

eBooks are products that many are trying to master selling. It has taken me to refine a process that helps me to sell my eBooks successfully. I've been online for over 10 years now, and even though some people in my family (who thinks I should have stuck with basketball) has me living sky-high.

I'm not bragging, but selling eBooks is a business that you can keep private. You do not need to have wear suits and go to business meetings, or hire someone to drive you around, or carry a briefcase and etc. If that's what you want to do, then fine - do it. But if you just want to sleep all day and live life on your own terms, this is something that the eBook business can give you.

Now I know that kind of lifestyle sounds desirable, but you have to put your work in. Like I said, I've been doing this for over 10 years now, and it's been a LONG, TOUGH road. I do not want to discourage you, but do not expect to make $ 10,000 a month within the next 3 months - like a lot of people will proclaim to you.

If you want to sell eBooks successfully, I suggest you create one from scratch, and learn how to market online. You see selling eBooks is not the only kind of business that you can have online. But no matter the business opportunity that you venture into, you will have to learn good marketing.

Sometimes I hear people say they want to sell MP3 players or cell phones or the latest gaming consoles, but my question to them is: "What is the difference between marketing these kind of products versus marketing an eBook product?" They have no answer for me. They think just because a product is "tangible" that it will sell easily. I'm here to tell you that no matter what you sell, if your marketing strategy is bad, you will not make a lot of sales - and you probably will not be in business for long.

Do not think you can escape this reality. Some people think that different business models require a different marketing plan. If you plan on selling on eBay, do not think you will escape "working hard" by selling on eBay. Even though they get millions of customers coming to their site everyday, guess what? You have to understand how they got those millions of customers in the first place ...

They advertised and marketed themselves!

eBay went through the hard part of marketing and people enjoy selling on their. But why can not you do the same with your own website? Imagine how much more money you would be making on your own site versus relying on eBay for buyer traffic. You would be super profitable!

Learn how to market your eBooks successfully and you will be good to go. In fact, become an internet marketing master and learn how to sell anything successfully online. This way you will not be afraid of anything - and afraid of venturing into any kind of business opportunity. Good luck!
