Law of Attraction - Eliminating Resistance

How do we eliminate resistance so we can become a match to what we want? One approach to dissolving resistance is to say yes to every step along the way of obtaining our goal.

The feeling of resistance may come on strong when we are working towards the achievement of bigger and larger goals but this feeling does not have to last long. Remember that resistance is an indication that we are not moving towards our goal so it will be our job to allow this feeling to melt away as quick as possible.

Let's take a look at a few situations when we experience resistance and how we can over it.

When We Do not Know How

Does this ever happen to you? I set a goal for a specific dollar amount that I would like to earn and the first thought that comes to my mind is, but I do not know how to do it . In addition to thinking this thought, I also feel a ton of resistance.

Sometimes I experience resistance because I do not like that I do not know how to make the dollar amount that I want. What happens when I resist these situations is that I keep myself from learning what it takes to reach my goal.

If you have been in a similar situation you may have noticed thoughts in your mind such as; I do not know how to do it, so I can not do it or I do not know how, so it is impossible . Take a moment and notice how you live your life when you believe these thoughts. Do you move toward your goal when you believe these thoughts or away from it?

If you noticed that those thoughts keep you stagnant, it might be helpful to acknowledge that you do not know how to do it. Then remember yourself that you are willing to learn what it takes to reach your goal. You may remind yourself by concentrating on the thought, Yes, I do not know how to do this, but I am willing to do what it takes to learn it .

Notice how you feel when you acknowledge that you do not know how but you are willing to learn. Do you feel empowered? Do you see yourself reaching your goal when you believe this thought? Where is the resistance when you tell yourself the truth?

When Things Becomes Difficult

Have you ever noticed that when you are working on a challenging goal that it without fail becomes difficult? Again, when we push the envelope in life, and challenge ourselves with higher and harder achievements, situation will become difficult.

Resistance in this situation is felt when we wished the situation or task was easier and then we tell ourselves that we can not do it or that it can not be done. We may notice thoughts in our minds like, this is too hard, I can not do it or this is too hard, it's impossible.

Do not believe those thoughts for a second. Remember, we do not have to believe all the thoughts in our head, especially when they hinder us from reaching our goals.

Remember, a goal is expected to get difficult at times because you may have never done it before.

What you do instead is look the difficulty in the eye and remind yourself, ye s, this is difficult but that does not mean impossible . Take a second and discover how you work towards your goal when you believe this thought. What kinds of things do you do, how do you feel and what are the results of believing this thought?

When We Are Afraid

There are times when we reach for a goal and we get a little nervous or down right frittened. In my experience, I do not like the feeling of fear in my body. This feeling is something that I, in truth, resist, but I also realized that when I resist it, I hold myself back.

Do not fight the feeling of fear, or try to make it go away. When we run from our feelings we condition ourselves to run from uncomfortable situations and thoughts. When we are giving life everything we've got, situations come up that frighten us but we can not let this hold us back.

Say yes to what you are experiencing by acknowledging that yes, I am indeed experiencing fear. Then remember yourself that it is not frightening enough to hold you back from reaching your goals. Be vigilant with yourself if you have to. It may help by concentrating on the thought, yes, I am afraid, maybe even very afraid in this moment but not so afraid that I will allow it to hold me back from going for what I want .

Then became aware of how you might live your life this moment on if you were to continue to believe this thought. What happens to the resistance when you agree with what you are experiencing?

Hopefully this approach will help you decrease the resistance you experience so that you can reach the goals you set out for.

The 4 Different Types of Connectives Used in Good Public Speaking

Good public speaking skills involve more than presenting informative or persuasive material to an audience in an engaging, uplifting manner. It requires the use of connectors to keep your presentation or speech organized as well as unified. Better than a verbal tic, such as 'um' or 'ah,' by employing good connectors in your speech, you will also make it easier for your listeners to both follow what you are saying and remember.

The 4 types of connectives include:

1. Signposts

Without a doubt, one of the most popular forms of connectors are signposts. The signpost refers to very brief statements that tell your audience where you are in your speech. They can be numbers - the 1st idea, the 2nd idea, etc .; they can be questions which offer good audience interaction; and, they can be phrases that underscore important points in your message.

Example: The most important thing I want you to gain from my presentation is that breathing with the support of your diaphragm will not only end vocal abuse but it will also mean a more confident, more mature-sounding speaking voice.

In the above statement, I have reiterated what I want my audience to remember but I have also let them know that I have come to the end of my development. While those words are not my concluding statement, they have paved the way for my conclusion.

2. Transitions

Transitions are words or phrases that mark the end of one thought or idea and move the speaker into another thought or idea by including material from the previous statement into the new one.

Example: Now that we have seen that the habitual voice can be affected by vocal abuse , allow me to explain how the situation can be reversed.

In the above sentence, the words in bold mark the transition, reinforcing my previous statements and paving the way for the new statement.

3. Internal Previews

Similar to the transition and often including a transition, the internal preview is found in the development of the speech or presentation and includes what is coming up in greater detail than the transition. The preview is in bold.

Example: Now that we have seen that the habitual voice can be affected by vocal abuse, the remedy is quite simple. Learn to breathe with the support of your diaphragm and allow your chests to power your voice.

Including the original transition, the internal preview consistors of the statement which follows in bold.

4. Internal Summaries

Found also in the development of the speech or presentation, the internal summary is the opposite of the internal preview because it lists ever so briefly what has already been stated. These summaries are important because they reinforce what has already been said, making it easier for your audience to follow your message.

Example: In essence, by learning to breathe properly, finding the optimum pitch of your speaking voice, and allowing your chest to do the work, you will eliminate vocal abuse forever.

The above sentence summarizes succinctly what may have been discussed for the last 10, 20 or even 40 minutes of your delivery.

Using any and all of the above connectives in your delivery are very effective means of keeping your audience's attention as well as keeping your talk organized. Use them and your listeners will remember more of what you have said.

Some other equipment you will need is a quality headset, a comfortable chair in a quiet room, and if you're serious about doing transcription, a foot pedal (preferably the USB kind). Depending on the format used (DVD, mp3, cassette, micro-cassette, etc), you may need additional equipment for audio playback. Of course, to be an efficient transcriptionist, you must also have a pretty decent typing speed, good listening, spelling and grammar skills.

As with any task you perform for your client, you will need to ask some important questions before you get started.

You should be ready with a checklist of some kind, because finding out certain information ahead of time will save you time and aggravation. Some questions you should ask your client before transcribing:

What will the client really do with the transcription (ie create an article or ebook)?

What form is the audio in (DVD, mp3, cassette, micro-cassette, etc)?

How will you receive the audio (mail, email, etc)?

Does the client want a hard copy or just the electronic file?

What form do they want the final product in (Word, PDF, etc)?

Do they want verbatim or do they want umms and other unfinished thoughts edited out?

How many speakers are there?

Do any of the speakers have accents?

Are they just looking to have the words put on the paper or are they looking for something that is proofread, edited, and in the final draft stage?

Does the audio include any confidential information?

o Will the client require a Non-disclosure Agreement in addition to the Virtual Assistance Agreement?
o If it is medical transcription, will there be HIPPA compliance issues involved?

If you do decide to venture into the realm of transcription, make sure you have all the necessary tools in place to make your journey a positive experience. Take your time when creating your proposals and make sure you understand all the details of each transcription project. If you are not sure of the terms of the project, contact the client for clarification.

You do not want to get in over your head and disappoint your client and yourself.

Consider taking on a couple small "trial" project before officially offering transcription services on your website.

Volunteer to transcribe a meeting or two for a church or civic group to gain some experience. You might even suggest a trade and get a client testimonial for your business! Either way it is an excellent opportunity to try out transcription, and see if it is worth adding to your business.

If you have the typing, spelling, and grammar skills that transcribing requires and you are willing to invest in some equipment to get started, then transcribing may be for you. Fixed Mortgages are changing quickly and for the better. Today, there are more choices for the term, rate and lender than ever before. Is Free Wireless Access Safe?

The best way to protect yourself is to create a secure link between your laptop and another computer, the other computer can be your home PC or any trusted server on the Internet which can be free or a pay service.

Using your home PC would be the safest and it's free but it requires a little more work. At home you will install a Secure Shell Server, this will accept a secure connection from your laptop a good "free for personal use" one is called WinSSHD, just download and install it and be sure to read the instructions. On your laptop you will install the connection software called Tunnelier this will create a secure connection between the two computers. If you have a router at home like most people do you will have to open port 22 and forward it to the PC that has WinSSHD running and you will need your home IP address so that you can tell Tunnelier where to connect to.

If you do not want to use your home PC or do not have one you can sign up for a free Secure Shell Server (SSH) access that offers tunneling or a pay SSH which is safer and more reliable. Once you find a SSH service you can use Tunnelier to connect to it which will create a secure connection also.

Now all you have to do is configure your browser to go through the secure connection and you are finished. All your Internet traffic in your browser is encrypted and the hackers will not be able to see anything you are doing. To keep this article short I skipped over the configuration details of WinSSHD, Tunnelier, Browser, and the router, all these are easily found on Google.
