People want to escape from prison by jumping over the fence, but then they go back into a society which is just another prison. The food is better, and there's women, you know ... but they still suffer continuously. Everybody sufferers almost constantly at each moment. The prison is within our own mind's.

There is a book called 'dark night of the soul' that was written in the 1500's (or 1600's) by this Christian Saint who was imprisoned, beaten, starved, tortured, and he actually used these experiences to his own advantage.
